    • I don’t know honestly but it came to me after attending a loved one’s funeral.
      Perhaps it refers to the bravery which I felt in all of us still there. What is your opinion?

        Yes, perhaps the inner strength we draw on to get us through our most difficult times. There are things that life throws at us where just carrying on is an act of the upmost bravery.
        A symbolic poem? Speaking of symbolism, and what black stands for, I do, like you have written here, think black a shade of beauty, rather than a symbol for grief.

      • Yes, I also find black a symbol of beauty. It carries a lot of mystery but also great depth.
        She was a beautiful woman and we all embraced her in our dark attire in a sense.
