To love

What I loved most about him
Was that even after we were through
He never stopped caring
Even after our love had simmered out
The last common breath had been taken
The final pen strokes on immensely shattering documents
The divide of one into two
Even after all what would crush a human being
He never stopped caring
That’s what I loved most about him
And his perfume
Damn, how I would love to bathe in his scent one last time.
