Where I woke up far too early, far too many times. 4:30. 5:21. 5:58. In a blurred haze I look at my phone, half knowingly aware yet somehow at ease. I blink again to clear my sight. Nightly activity, one message after another, all previewed. I should respond. 6:27. 6:59. I can get up now. The alarm sounds at 7:05 and when I wake up, it’s a fine line remembering the words written just a few hours earlier.
